Kodiak Kingdom: Multiplier Mountain Slot with Buy Free Spins Option

Leading software provider, Microgaming and Just For The Win (JFTW) have teamed up for the Kodiak Kingdom: Multiplier Mountain slot. This isn’t their first collaboration and will undoubtedly not be their last. The game is loosely themed on North American wildlife, in particular elk, salmon, bears, and eagles. This Alaska-inspired game gets its name for its features.

Goodies in this game include ample wilds, big money multipliers, free spins, and if you fancy taking your chances, a buy-a-bonus mode. While stunningly beautiful and peaceful to play, some might claim that there is a lack of original features in this release, at least compared to other JFTW and Microgaming slots. However, together, the theme, imagery and features create a fun and enjoyable package, and we’ll share those with you in our Kodiak Kingdom: Multiplier Mayhem slot review.

Play with 4,096 Ways to Win Active

Kodiak Kingdom: Multiplier Mountain gives you six reels to spin. Unlike many six-reel slots, which tend to be MegaWays releases, this game is looking at 4,096 ways to win on each spin. In some ways, that is arguably better than MegaWays games, as you’re guaranteed to get that number of lines in play every time. Of course, having so many paylines active makes Kodiak Kingdom a highly volatile release.

With highly volatile games, you’re expecting decent RTP rates and top prizes. The RTP sits around the 96.2% mark, and there’s nothing wrong with that. Moreover, prizes reach upwards of 25,000x a stake, so we can’t grumble at that, either. Lastly, stakes cost between 0.20 and 10.00 a pop. Ultimately, this is win-win stuff from Microgaming.

Straightforward Special Features

You’ll find two wild symbols woven into Kodiak Kingdom: Multiplier Mayhem. The first of these is a bog-stand, plain Jane wild symbol. The second, though, is a multiplier wild. They can only appear on the second to fifth reels and can potentially substitute for any icons (save for scatter symbols) that you need to complete a winning combo.

Once a wild multiplier lands, it triggers a multiplier. The more wild emblems you land on the reels, the greater the multiplier will be. This is found in the free spin bonus. However, it does reset to zero once you return to the base game.

Scatters have the potential to unlock the slot’s free spin round. You’ll need three to six of these to initiate the only real bonus in the slot.

Multiplier Mountain Madness

Three, four, five or six of Kodiak Kingdom’s scatters will unlock ten, fifteen, twenty or thirty free spins, respectively. As mentioned, you’ll get to play with multiplier wilds in this round, and the more wilds you can locate, the more valuable the multiplier will be.

You can also scrape together a few extra spins to add to your tally. Landing one, two, three, four, five or six extra scatters will bestow one, three, ten, fifteen, twenty or thirty extra spins upon players. That’s about there is in the way of free spin bonuses or any other sort of special features in this nature-themed slot.

Buy Your Bonus for a Reasonable Price

As is customary in modern games, you’re going to be given the option of purchasing the free spin bonus round outright. There is a fixed price for activating the feature in this manner, and at 90x your bet, it isn’t overly costly. We’ve seen buy-a-bonus modes go for a lot more than this.

What you’ll get is a selection of scatters on the first three reels to trigger the free spin bonus. Of course, the other three reels will spin, too, so you could end up starting with four, five or six scatters instead. Either way, the cost of the buy-a-bonus round isn’t extortionate given what you get in exchange.

Kodiak Kingdom: Multiplier Mountain – Our Verdict

Kodiak Kingdom: Multiplier Mountain is a game that is a touch light on features. However, we certainly feel that it offers value for money. Stakes are cheap, the prizes are more than fair for any highly volatile game, and it is not as though players will be short of ways to win.

Ultimately, this is a decent effort from Microgaming and Just For The Win, and it is a game that easily gives Microgaming’s earlier Untamed series of slots a run for their money.
